Within the framework of the Calouste Gulbenkian Translation
Series project, on 25 November 2023 a workshop was organized jointly by the
Armenian Communities Department of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and ARI
Literature Foundation at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in Yerevan. The
ultimate purpose of the meeting was to discuss the first phase of the project, which
is currently being concluded, to talk about the processes, the challenges, the
merits, as well as to announce the launch of the second phase of the project with
possible actions and measures to be taken in order to ensure more efficiency.
Among the participants of the meeting were advisory committee members, translators and editors from the first phase of Calouste Gulbenkian Translation Series, as well as the representatives of the Armenian Communities Department of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the team of ARI Literature Foundation.
During the meeting a working agenda was elaborated together with the participants which included three main directions that were discussed in detail: the translation process, the content, and the administration.
The discussion was effective in terms of lessons learned from the first phase of the project and notes were made to be considered at the planning and implementation levels of the second phase of the series.
