DIFFERENT STORIES Picture Books Project

ARI Literature Foundation, in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Armenia, implemented the DIFFERENT STORIES Picture Books Project, an important contribution to ongoing literary projects in Armenia focused on inclusivity․

Within this initiative, two picture books, The Champion and I Speak Through Dancing were created by writer Gayane Aghabalyan and illustrator Lusine Sahakyan, enriching contemporary Armenian children’s literature. The project team traveled to all regions of the country, presenting the books in schools and engaging teachers in discussions on how children’s literature can be used to promote empathy, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom.
