OPEN CALL FOR YOUNG WRITERS AND JOURNALISTS: Documenting the Reality: Fiction VS Journalism.
ARI Literature Foundation (Armenia) in partnership with Kalem Kultur (Turkey) is launching a project entitled ‘Documenting the Reality: Fiction VS Journalism’ as a special edition of ‘Write in Armenia International Writing Camp’ project being implemented by ARI Literature Foundation since 2018.
Write in Armenia International Writing Camp creates an opportunity for young writers and journalists to get together in a seven-day extensive program to learn from each other and about each other. We will invite 2 young writers and 2 young journalists from each country to take part in the project.
The project comprises lectures, workshops, individual and group writing sessions both in English and native languages, readings and group discussions, open mic night, as well as warm-up exercises, cultural tours and free time for communication with each other.
The tutors will be a group of established writers and journalists from Armenia and Turkey who will guide the participants throughout the course and provide training and mentoring.
The project will be implemented in Yerevan, Armenia in mid-June 2024
The working language of the camp is English
Eligibility:
Applicants should:
- Be of 22-24 years old on the date of applying
- Be functionally fluent in English
- Have a strong interest in creative writing and journalism as a future career
Application process:
- Completed application form (in English)
- Motivation letter (in English).
- Resume or CV (in English)
- Writing sample: 250-500 words of fiction (for writers) and journalistic writing (for journalists) (in your native language)
- Writing sample: min 200 words of fiction (for writers) and journalistic writing (for journalists) (in English)
