We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for authors to participate in a unique Residency Exchange Program between Yerevan, Armenia, and Leipzig, Germany, taking place in March 2025. The exchange is part of event “Unwritten Memory: Armenian Book Art and Literature” and takes place during Leipzig Book Fair 2025.
This residency aims to foster international collaboration, cultural exchange, and artistic growth by bringing together creative talents from Armenia and Germany in two vibrant literary and artistic hubs.
The residency is a mutual program of the City Leipzig and the City Yerevan in cooperation with the Goethe-Zentrum in Armenia. Partner Institution in Leipzig: Literaturhaus e.V. and in Yerevan: ARI Literature Foundation.
Who Can Apply
- Writers of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, or children’s literature who have published at least one book.
What the Residency Offers*
- A one-month stay in Leipzig, including airfare and accommodation in the Eisler House Leipzig
- A stipend to cover living expenses
- Opportunities for networking, creative collaboration, and professional development.
- Engagement in local cultural and literary events.
- Public presentations to share your work on 19th March at Literaturhaus Leipzig and one presentation event during the Leipzig Book Fair 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to a project in process.
- Working knowledge in English (or a working knowledge of the host country’s language) is obligatory.
- Open to residents of Yerevan

- A writing sample (in Armenian and in English and/or German if available)
- A letter of motivation explaining how this residency aligns with your artistic goals and how you plan to contribute to cultural exchange (in Armenian or English)
- Two professional references (in Armenian or English)
